Fun Run 2017: Yes, it's sooner than you think! We need your help

HEARST FUN RUN: SEEKING SPONSORSHIPS AND NEW COMMUNITY SERVICE FOCUS:

DO YOU OWN OR WORK FOR A BUSINESS THAT WOULD LIKE TO SPONSOR OUR 2017 HEARST FUN RUN? Our Hearst Fun Run committee is trying to make every penny count by putting as much of the money raised directly back into the school! We are looking for businesses within our community that would like to sponsor our Sixth Annual Hearst FUN Run which will take place on September 29, 2017! A sponsorship would only cost $150.00 and would consist of an advertising block (using a black and white image of the business' logo) which would be placed on our 2 campus FUN Run banners, on our PTA's FUN Run website (along with a live link to the business' website through their logo) and on our online donation website (visible to all Hearst families and those that donate!). We will also be recognizing our sponsors' generosity in our school newsletters and on a sponsor flyer which will be going home with all students. If you, or someone you know, is interested in supporting the students of Hearst and this really fun event, please contact Kristen Stedman at kristenstedman@comcast.net or Tara Brown at tarareneebrown@gmail.com

THIS YEAR, THE FUN RUN COMMITTEE WILL ALSO BE ENCOURAGING FAMILIES TO SEND IN ANY GENTLY USED/NEW ATHLETIC SHOES TO DONATE FOR KIDS IN NEED. SO START COLLECTING SHOES THIS SUMMER (RUNNING SHOES, CLEATS, AND ANY SPORTS SHOES IN GOOD CONDITION WILL BE ACCEPTED!!) COLLECTIONS WILL BEGIN THIS FALL!

PPIE Spring Push ENDS May 5th!

Thanks to all for joining PPIE's 5th Annual Run for Education - which hosted 3,000 people and raised $100,000 for our schools. Thank you!

Now we are closing out the year with a final Spring Push to raise funds for extra staffing in our schools. For this campaign, families are asked to donate $100 of which 100% will fund 2 extra 'classified staff' hours per day at each elementary and middle school for the coming 2017/2018 school year. These funds will be added to existing PPIE funds (including those from our Run) to fund either a Library Assistant (to keep our libraries open longer) or a Site Tech Specialist (to keep our technology running effectively for teachers and students). Each school will select the position which bests suits that school and these hours will be added to the 5 hours/day for library assistants and 6 hours/day for site tech specialists that PUSD already provides. (Note that for this school year, PPIE will continue to provide high schools with a lump sum donation to fund technology in the classroom.)

Please visit www.ppie.org/donate to learn more and to consider a donation by May 5 for use in the coming school year. Thank you for your support in creating a great school experience for our students!
